Join us for an authentic experience at our wilderness center, Camp Tamok, conveniently located a scenic 90-minute bus drive from Tromsø's city center. If you opt for the own car option, details on meeting places and times are provided below.
Upon reaching the camp, we'll outfit you in warm winter clothes and provide necessary gear. Our guides will offer comprehensive safety instructions and a practical demonstration on steering your own sled.
Dog sledding with Alaskan huskies is an active experience. Each dog sled accommodates two individuals sharing a husky team, with one as the "musher" (driver) and the other enjoying the ride. While the dogs are well-trained and love to run, teamwork is crucial, requiring moments where you assist and push the sled with your dog team.
During the journey, you'll have the opportunity to switch places, allowing both participants to take turns driving or relaxing on the sled. Depending on snow conditions, the expedition may last up to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Post-tour, relish a hot meal around an open fire in a traditional reindeer herder’s tent.
After unwinding and warming up, your daytime sledding adventure concludes, and it's time to board the bus back to Tromsø city center.
