Explore the pristine nature of Kirkenes, surrounded by thousands of lakes and the Arctic Sea, making it one of the premier destinations in Norway for ice fishing adventures. Join the Snowhotel's guided ice fishing trip, where we'll outfit you warmly and transport you by snowmobile sleigh to the frozen fjord. Your fisherman guide will skillfully navigate, pulling you in a sledge attached to the snowmobile.
Upon reaching the fishing spot, your guide will drill a hole through the thick ice while you prepare your fishing gear. The fjord boasts various fish species, including the occasional salmon, though the most common catch is cod – Norway's primary fish, integral to the economy like oil or hydropower. If luck is on your side, your guide might even cook your catch for you after the tour.
When embarking on a winter journey to Norway, make sure to include ice fishing in your itinerary for a memorable experience!
